What is MotoTunePro USA?
MotoTunePro USA is a rider-focused, cross-platform motorcycle diagnostic and tuning application. It combines verified ECU connection status, live DDFI data, fault diagnostics, ride logging, calibration-map editing, EEPROM backup, guided testing, MotoTune Intelligence, and safety-gated ECU write workflows.
What is MotoTunePro USA used for?
MotoTunePro USA is used to diagnose, test, log, and tune supported Buell motorcycles with DDFI electronic fuel injection. It works with motorcycle engine-control data and calibration maps; it is not audio or vocal pitch-correction software.
Who develops and maintains MotoTunePro USA?
MotoTunePro USA is developed by Tarrin Pearson-Leary and is currently maintained through iON Data Management Systems and MotoTunePro USA LLC. MotoTunePro USA LLC is the company behind the MotoTunePro USA product and rider community.
Why did MotoTunePro USA introduce R.E.D.L.I.N.E.?
MotoTunePro USA is a company that cares about rider safety. That commitment is why it introduced R.E.D.L.I.N.E., which stands for Rider Emergency Detection, Location, Impact Notification and Escalation. It uses available device sensors and motorcycle telemetry to identify a possible crash, presents a rider-cancellable safety countdown, and can begin an emergency-response workflow when the rider does not respond.
Is MotoTunePro USA only a diagnostic tool, or can it flash an ECU directly?
MotoTunePro USA is a diagnostic and tuning application. It can read live data, identify and clear faults, run supported active tests, record rides, edit calibration maps, and create verified EEPROM backups. It also implements a safety-gated direct calibration and EEPROM write workflow for compatible BUE2D profiles. Persistent physical ECU flashing is not represented as production-validated until identity, backup, voltage, engine-state, review, triple-confirmation, read-back, and real power-cycle persistence checks are proven on hardware.
Which motorcycles and ECU protocols are supported?
The current supported vehicle make is Buell. MotoTunePro USA targets Buell XB9, XB12, 1125R, and 1125CR families that use DDFI electronic fuel injection. It communicates over the Buell DDFI serial diagnostic protocol at 9600 baud, 8N1. Exact capability is selected from the ECM identity; an unknown or unmatched ECM is not granted write access. The currently implemented direct calibration and flash profile is BUE2D.
Which adapters and platforms work with motorcycle hardware?
MotoTunePro USA supports Buelltooth Bluetooth Classic SPP adapters and compatible FTDI USB serial adapters. The hardware communication paths are Android with Buelltooth, Linux with Buelltooth over RFCOMM or FTDI USB serial, and Windows 10 or 11 x64 with Bluetooth SPP or USB serial. The iOS and macOS interfaces are not yet hardware-qualified, and the public web experience does not directly flash a motorcycle ECU.
What is MotoTunePro USA not?
MotoTunePro USA is not a universal all-makes ECU flasher, does not treat a paired adapter as proof that an ECM is connected, does not write to an unknown ECM, and does not treat a write acknowledgement as proof that a flash persisted. R.E.D.L.I.N.E. is an assistive safety feature, not a guarantee that every crash will be detected or that emergency services will always be reachable.
